As Director of Life Skills, Isidro is responsible for the oversight and daily operations of Career and Leadership Development of the Goldstein Family Student-Athlete Development Center. Through the Center, workshops and resources are provided to assist student-athletes with preparation for success in both in college and after graduation in the core areas of career development, leadership development and financial literacy. Isidro also oversees 1st year Experience programming for all new student-athletes which aides in the transition to college sports and while connecting student-athletes to campus partners and resources. 




Joined SBU Athletics Staff: Fall 2019 




At SBU Athletics: Duties include developing programs geared towards enhancing student-athlete career and leadership growth, professional development and community outreach endeavors. Isidro also serves as the Staff Advisor for various Student-Athlete Leadership Groups (SALGS) while nominating student-athletes for conference academic, community and leadership awards. Isidro designs the vision and programming for the 1st Year Student-Athlete experience aiding in their transition to college campus and sports. Isidro also serves on the America East Spread Respect Advisory Group which aims to address systemic racial injustice and inequality and its direct impact on the lives of our Black student-athletes, staff and administrators. Through his work in this group the AE Conference has developed actionable recommendations that will ensure sustained long-term progress and impact in combating racism and inequality across the Conference and for its member institutions. 




Prior to SBU: Before joining the Seawolves family, Isidro served as the Community School Director at Partnership with Children, a Community Based Organization based in New York City. Prior to PwC, Isidro has worked with several New York City based CBO’s focusing on College Access and Success and supporting primarily 1st generation students and families navigate their college attainment and success dreams. 




Education: Stony Brook University 2007 - Bachelors of Arts in Sociology, CUNY Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College 2017 - Masters of Social Work: Organization, Management & Leadership. The Network for Social Work Management 2018 - Certificate of Human Services Management. Ramapo for Children 2018 - Certificate for Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. Goddard Riverside Community Center 2015 – College Counseling Certificate. 




Of Note: Isidro was a four year letter winner at Stony Brook University, where he was a member of the Baseball Team. He was named 2004 America East Most Outstanding Player leading Baseball to its 1st Division I NCAA tournament berth. In 2005 he was named All-America East First Team. 




Personal: Native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Isidro currently lives in Huntington Station, NY with his wife Yesenia (former SBU alumni) and their two kids, Sofia and Diego.
