Have you ever thought about what people will say about you at your funeral?
Whenever I start working with someone who’s experiencing a bad case of “short-term mentality” (more about that in the full video), I ask them a simple, yet complex question: "How do you want to be remembered?"
Many of us former athletes are so desperate to attach our identities to something, that we take any job we can get our hands on after hanging up the jersey.
Sometimes we stay stuck in these roles, despite knowing they’re not a good fit.
I’m not recommending that anyone become a serial job hopper like I used to be. I’m merely suggesting that we don’t settle, and put more effort into developing a clear picture for how we want the story of our lives to unfold.
We all have more control over the narrative than we sometimes give ourselves credit for.
