It is well known that poor executive function impacts every aspect of life across the life span, including work productivity and getting along with others. Executive function refers to the parts of the brain that are important for on-task attention, short-term memory and manipulation of information in mind (working memory), long-term memory, decision making, reasoning and planning. We now know that some of these functions can be improved with tailored neuroscience training exercises. We discuss these advances in neuroscience and its impact for educators in Schools and Society.
