When you look at the Bible as something that is a “Book of Rules”, it can irritate our demons, bring up shame, & make us resentful & angry towards God. Until you get to know God on a personal level & start understanding the Bible from a different level of awareness, you can feel hopeless of ever “earning” God’s love, because you know you will never live up to the standards. But here’s a different perspective to ponder on, You don’t need to earn or perform for God’s love & in fact, his love for you, is the very reason he laid out these guidelines, sent Christ to first be an example & then to be your helper because there is no way you could do this life alone. yet he knows, despite having the Spirit of Christ to give you strength & transform you, you will stray from the Christ way. HE ALREADY KNOWS THAT & LOVES YOU ANYWAYS. God never expected perfection, he just wants your heart. Someone who wants nothing more than to dwell in the Father’s presence for all the days of our lives & the only way to dwell in the presence of God, is to follow is the footsteps of Christ. Leave the shame behind, leave the guilt behind, leave the condemnation behind, & let yourself see how much God loves you despite your darkness.
