How much money do doctors make in the US?
Pre-meds and medical school students have a lot of reasons why they pursue a career in medicine and want to become doctors. Helping people and making a difference in the world are some of the more common reasons. Another huge motivating factor is the salary!
It’s no secret that physicians and surgeons are high up there in terms of compensation. But what other people sometimes forget is how much of a financial investment becoming a doctor also is (Not to mention those wasted time and opportunities with friends and loved ones.).
In most cases, a doctor doesn’t get a check until their late 20’s or early 30’s
But once you get that M.D., you may be able to quickly catch up financially. But how much do doctors really earn and which specialties and considerations affect that number?
