I’ve talked a lot about my medical journey and now that I have my M.D., I want to share with you the lessons I have learned during my first year as a doctor.

Just like some of you, I’ve thought about a career in medicine countless times during my pre-med days, including studying for Step 1 as a med student, preparing for the MCAT, med school rotations and many other steps of the journey

It’s one thing to read, watch and hear about the lessons other doctors learned in their first year of residency, and yet another to actually be there with the white coat in the hospital talking to patients, nurses, and your attending

One thing I can assure you is that, you don’t have to know everything. But, it surely helps to learn how you can get yourself ready for uncertainties and become comfortable with being uncomfortable.

I talk about this and other lessons I learned as a doctor including one about self-care in this new video of the TMJ show!
