What is it like being a resident doctor?

A resident physician’s experience can vary a lot as it goes on. So, when I got enough messages from pre-meds, med school students and others, I started thinking about addressing them in another Q & A video.

Prior to working in medicine up to now, there are recurring questions and discussions about how doctors mistreat nurses, the excessively high pay of doctors, and full-fledged doctors not wanting their kids to become one.

There’s just a lot of truths and mistruths to all these, but for med students, you can only truly understand and relate to specific endeavors when you finally become a doctor.

For one, I didn’t realize admin work in the hospital would bother me so much. It’s not something you think about or your professors actively warn you against as you go through your clinical rotations or prep for Step 1.

So today, I am getting to your questions with my perspective as a resident doctor in this episode of the TMJ show!
