:: ::

Eating disorders are a leading cause of death when it comes to mental illnesses, only second to opioid overdose. Nearly 30 million people in the U.S. will experience an eating disorder in their lifetime. They can and do affect people of every age, sexuality, gender identity, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic group, and with proper professional care and awareness, they are treatable. In this episode, we’re joined by a few guests, including Johanna Kandel, the founder of The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness. Together we talk about the varying types of eating disorders, the most common ways they present, and what treatment and recovery can look like.
