Memorial Day Special: The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - a podcast by DC by Foot

Apologies to all our incredible listeners! Tours are up and running and we had some technical issues to work out, so we are a bit behind on releasing episodes. However, we wanted to drop this particular episode on this special day as our nation comes together to honor and remember the incredible sacrifices made by our Armed Forces throughout history. We could think of no better way to mark the occasion than to teach you everything you've ever wanted to know about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, one of our country's most important and meaningful places.

We will be moving to a lighter "summer schedule" as with tours picking up (hopefully) we will have less time to work on this. But we will still be bringing you two episodes a month, and then at least one bonus episode a month for our Patrons, along with some other bonus material.

Thank you for your patience and support!

This year, 2021 is the 100th birthday of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery and we wanted to talk about this anniversary, the Tomb itself, and its history. It is also Memorial Day, and this is how we would like to help honor all our military personnel, TGTA style!

Join Rebecca and Becca as we chat about one of the most fascinating things in the DC area, and perhaps the most important: the history of the Tomb of the Unknowns and the incredible Sentinels who guard it every day.
