The time has come, Timmy Cahill has retired from international football. Yes that’s right - after 50 goals in 107 appearances the 38 year old is calling it time on his Socceroos career. He announced this on Twitter saying ‘Today’s the day that I’m officially hanging up my boots on my international career with the Socceroos.

No words can describe what it has meant to represent my country. Massive thank you to everyone for the support throughout all my years wearing the Australian badge.’

If you saw the headlines yesterday that Usain Bolt may be gracing our shores, you may be forgiven for thinking it was a joke - but no, apparently not - Bolt’s proposed A-League trial will go ahead - but only if the FFA agrees to contribute around $900,000 from its marquee fund should the Jamaican sprint king prove worthy of a contract.

Australian football agent Tony Rallis says an "in-principle" deal has been reached to bring the eight-time Olympic gold medallist to the Central Coast Mariners.
