Why did God set up Nations? - The Tower of Babel. Just as in the days of Noah, all people used the same language and they all desired to save themselves (from another flood, which God had promised He would never again do). They wanted to be like God and control their own destiny (they wanted to be more than The God of the Heavens) to make their selves famous above all others (the only "others" that existed was the Trinity). They had planed to make a city, but more importantly to build a tower for their refuge. So God came down and inspected all that thy had done and decided to change the language among them. Each family or each group of families who spoke the same new language separated from the other new language speaking groups and traveled elsewhere and became individual nations. Approximately 70 different Nations. Then they carried out, finally, one of God's first few commandments - "Multiply and fill the earth".
