The Bourke Street Attack - a podcast by True Blue Crime
from 2019-08-25T07:00
20th of January 2017 Windsor, Melbourne, Victoria.
At around 8am, a channel 9 news team were covering a story about a man who had been viciously stabbed by his own brother, outside their mother’s apartment. The victim was fighting for his life in hospital.
The channel 9 reporter discussing the crime was interrupted by a maroon Holden Commodore, which pulled up slowly behind her.
The driver leaned out the window, smiling, and looked directly at the camera.
‘That’s me they’re looking for” he yelled, before driving off.
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the mentally unstable and drug-addicted history of this driver, who would go on to drive through Melbourne’s CBD in an erratic and violent fashion. They discuss the police pursuit policy and subsequent response, and the tragic attack that would ultimately take the lives of 6 innocent people, and wound approximately 30 more.
