Residents of Melbourne, Australia, were terrified that their child might be the next one targeted. Dubbed Mr. Cruel by the press, the offender was calm and organized.

The perpetrator appeared to have a high degree of knowledge of forensic techniques, leaving behind no clues or evidence that led to his identity. He remains unidentified to this day.
