Tonya is the pediatric trauma nurse educator and outreach coordinator for the pediatric trauma program at UNC's Trauma Center as well as a car seat technician. She provides valuable information on the dangers of leaving children in hot cars and tips on how to prevent heatstroke deaths. Tonya also shares a firsthand encounter of finding two children alone in a hot car and the actions she took — an experience that earned her a SAVE Award.
