My First Bike Race: Steve Carpenter - Episode 35 - a podcast by Coach Tim Hall

The second show in our series titled My First Bike Race comes from our friend Steve Carpenter of Chattanooga, TN. Steve raced his first race in 1989 near his hometown of Chicago, IL. After that first race at the criterium at the Great Lakes Naval Base he was bit with the racing bug, and then took it as far as possible as a competitor to the Cat 1 level, as an elite coach, and director of elite/professional teams such as Hincapie Development and Lupus Racing. He has done this while working full-time as a certified athletic trainer at the high school level and helping raise a family of five sons. Steve has a great perspective on the sport, and his first race over 30 years ago is what started it all. Enjoy and share the show!
