He began collecting as a child using his pocket money. His long- term fascination has been the study of weapons and associated items from the Celtic, Viking and early medieval periods. Like any collector, he has a selection of cars and motorcycles which are currently undergoing restoration. The History changing “Tomar Hoard” has been an intense journey for Hamilton, and has led to the hit TV Series “The Lost Relics of the Knights Templar” which currently airs in the UK , and on The Discovery Channel in the USA.Carl Cookson, partnered with his brother Lawrence, has had several successful businesses spanning back to the late 1970’s. After selling their company “Swift Rent A Car Limited”, the brothers decided to invest their capital in commercial property, and have been going strong ever since. Carl credits his father for his interest in the medieval era, as he would spend hours on end listening to his very vivid tales of historic events, that captivated him as a young man, and was rekindled as adult when he purchased a home in France, while on holiday, that was a part of the Knight Templar Legacy. He and Hamilton White met in Monaco, and their common interest led them to forge an immediate friendship. He feels honoured and committed to protecting the Tomar Hoard, and feels dutybound to ensure that it finds its way to it's next rightful custodian. Carl is also the Host of “The Lost Relics of the Knights Templar which is currently in production for Season Two
