A gospel is a public statement of some good news. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is more than just good news. In it God’s salvation bringing plan is being made accessible—not only to the Jews, who were God’s chosen people, but also to the Gentiles.

Romans is a missionary letter. Paul states that his obligation to share the good news is
not just to the Jews, not just to the Greeks, but to all people. The mission of the church
is to share the good news of the saving grace of Christ. Paul’s letters challenge us to
keep this mission at the center of our lives.
