I'm willing to be a lotus
By Xi Mu rong
I'm willing to be a lotus, swaying gently in the evening breeze
For me, the hustle and bustle of the world is as transient as fleeting clouds
I'd like to stand in a pond of half an acre
Submerged by the elegant lotuses, with my heart as clean as a mirror

I'd like to guard a pond of clear water with my lifetime, regardless of wind and rain
Asking nothing but spotless and dustless, calm and lucid, without regret
As if I'm a pond of autumn water, only for pale cloud and light wind, only for a holy honesty
In the dim moonlight, a figure is hidden in the shadow while a shadow is floating on the water
A lotus gazing at the sky is quiet, as classical as stars sinking into a lotus pond

One-third of mine is embedded in the mud while another one-third sticks out of water,
Only making the gesture of overlooking water into an indifferent and pure freehand brushwork
Hues of pale pink and white, a breath of sweet scent and a light touch of ink
Escape one by one from the scenes in the poems of Tang and Song Dynasties

Fresh wind teases out a quiet lake while moonlight is slimmer than the lotus stalk
View a spray of water browsing the fading season
I'm willing to be a lotus, stained by thick scent and waiting for a gust of wind to slowly stretch my figure
I'm willing to be a lotus, to enjoy the stretched graceful slenderness
Charming lines are floating on the surface of water
My beauty dances again and again, playing the drum in the wind
Willowy notes suddenly start to beat brightly

Some say the lake on the peak of the mountain is a teardrop falling on the
earth,
So the smiling face in the blue sky is a lake hanging in my heart
I'm willing to be a lotus. My sparkling laughter
Is the glittering ripple in my heart
Leading the strayed weeds
And whispering delightfully along with Time
Wilt isn't my gaze and nor is haggardness my wish
But bending is my silence

I'm willing to be a lotus. Even if eventually withered and hit by raindrop
I'll also enjoy my home in feelings unaltered by millennium
I'm willing to be a lotus, standing elegantly amid green shadows and blossoming smiles
One day, the person who understands the tune of ‘Mountain stream’ will come by wading across the water
Bringing a piccolo and a tune of ‘Rain hitting the lotus leave’......

A Blooming Tree
By Xi Mu rong

May Buddha let us meet in my most beautiful hours,
I have prayed for it for five hundred years.
Buddha made me a tree
By the path you may take.
In full blossoms I'm waiting in the sun
Every flower carrying my previous hope.

As you are near,
Listen carefully
The quivering leaves are my waiting zeal,

As you pass by the tree without noticing me.
My friend,
Upon the ground behind you
Is not the fallen petals
But my withered heart.
