The Goodness of God - July 30 2017 - a podcast by VOX Community Podcast

At this critical juncture for the Vox Community, Tim Muehlhoff directs our attention to Romans 8:31-39, in which Paul writes his brothers and sisters in the early church who were struggling with their faith in the face of hardships. In difficult times, we rely on God to provide answers that we want – to cure an illness, to give us a new job, etc. What do we do, however, when God doesn’t give us what we want? According to Paul, we should remember God’s love shown through Jesus Christ trumps anything and everything. God gave His only son to save each one of us when we were still sinners. When things do not go our way, it doesn’t mean that God is not present or God does not care about us. We should rather examine our hearts to see if we are not judging God based on our personal needs.

Chris Cox did not grow up in the church. In his teens, he fell into heavy drug use. At 18, he experienced a calling from God in his car. Compelled by God’s voice, Chris began went to study at a Christian college, shared the gospel with others, and then served as a worship leader for years. While serving in church leadership, Chris became skeptical of the American Christian subculture and its perfectly-laid-out set of beliefs. As he deconstructs and reconstructs his faith, he is happy to join other Christ-loving people in their journey.
