The Victim Service Center Podcast aims to normalize the dialogue of sexual violence and other social issues through housing discussions with professionals that serve victims and survivors of trauma, and those who have experienced violence. 


This week on the Victim Service Center Podcast we are talking about COVID-19 and the effects it has had on Advocacy, Public Health, Survivors of trauma, and the LGBTQ+ Community. 


On this episode we have joining us Kris Albers: Kris is the Director of the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Training and Sustainability Program with the Florida Council Against Sexual Violence. She is also an advanced practice registered nurse and a certified adult / adolescent sexual assault nurse examiner conducting medical forensic exams in her home town of Tallahassee, FL. 


We also have Emily Collins on this week: Emily;s pronouns are she/her and she is an LGBTQ+ Victim Advocate and Crisis Counselor in an adjunct position between two agencies here in Central Florida, The Victim Service Center and Zebra Coalition. Emily has experience working with trauma in various settings and currently specializes in working with the LGBTQ+ community after they experience sexual assault.
