How can we better support survivors? Come join VSC Education Coordinator Emilie Mitchell as she chats with VSC Victim Advocate Priscilla Aquino and VSC Therapist Orialis Sosa to chat revictimization and its possible impacts, what we can say and avoid saying when someone discloses about their trauma, and ways supporters can practice self-care.

Priscilla Aquino uses she/her pronouns and is a Bilingual Victim Advocate and Crisis Counselor at the VSC who is fluent in Spanish. She obtained her Master’s in Social Work from Kean University in NJ and has over 20 years of experience working with adolescence families, and victims of crime. Priscilla is very passionate about helping people heal from their trauma and rediscover their inner-strength as well as educating others. She hopes to be the voice for those who are unable to advocate for themselves.

Orialis Sosa uses she/her pronouns and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. Orialis’ background consists of providing counseling and victim advocacy support to survivors of crime and trauma. In her current role, she provides counseling support to high school students and is one of VSC’s contract therapists.
