It’s a new year and with it we all may have new goals and aspirations. Come listen to the new episode of the VSC Podcast to hear why practicing Mindfulness might be a great resolution to add to your list! Education Coordinator Emilie Mitchell sat down with two amazing Mental Health Professionals: Jordan Steckler and Orialis Sosa to talk about Mindfulness techniques for beginners and more experienced people, the connection between mindfulness and yoga, and the benefits of practicing Mindfulness for survivors of trauma and everyone.


Jordan Steckler uses she/her pronouns and is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. Jordan currently works with adolescents and adults on a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and grief. Jordan is also a 200 hour certified yoga teacher.


Orialis Sosa uses she/her pronouns and is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern in the state of Florida. She earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Central Florida. Orialis’ background consists of providing counseling and victim advocacy support to survivors of crime and trauma. In her current role, she provides counseling support to high school students.
