On the 56th episode of the VSC Podcast Education Coordinator Emilie Mitchell sat down with VSC Speakers Bureau Member Rachel Sines and VSC Lead Advocate Rhonda Wilson to chat about Sexual Assault Anniversaries, common reactions survivors can have during these anniversaries, and ways survivors and their supporters can help prepare and heal during these moments in their healing journeys.


Rachel Sines uses she/her pronouns and is a survivor of a sexual assault and kidnapping following the break in of her home 14 years ago. Her attacker was given four life sentences and 67 years in prison for 13 counts with a firearm. She lives with her husband and daughter in Winter Garden, FL and takes every opportunity to advocate for victims and others seeking a path to healing in order to create something positive from such a dark event.


Rhonda Wilson she/her pronouns and has been part of the VSC team for ten years. She has three graduate degrees, a Master of Human Services, a MBA and a Master in Administration of Justice and Security. Rhonda has over 30 years of experience in criminal/military justice. She served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. After retiring from the Navy, Rhonda worked as the Director of a Residential Re-entry Center for inmates transitioning from federal prisons. Rhonda’s goal is to engage the entire community in activities that prevent sexual assault and crime.
