EP61: The rise of plastic surgery in Ghana and Nigeria - a podcast by Nana Kwame

Plastic surgery especially bum surgeries are on the rise in Ghana, Nigeria and the African continent as a whole. A lot of you young women are going under the surgical knife to enhance their looks. One woman popular for this is Ghanaian socialite Moesha Buduong, wh is noted to have enhanced her backside. Moesha Buduong bum and hips have made her very popular leading to an interview with CNN.

A 27 year old Nigerian lawyer recently lost her life when she decided to use surgery as a form of weight loss. The woman known as Barrister Enobong is said to have wanted the fat taken from her belly to be pumped into her bum to give her a bum lift. The surgeon is believed to have been a quack and it was reported that is what lead to her death. Dr Obengfo of Ghana is reported to be the number one surgeon in the country when it comes to bum lifts and implants. The surgeon is responsible for the recent rise in many "fake" bums and hips in the country.

The Wahaala Boys look at the cause of the rise in plastic surgery among the women and ask the question, "why are people playing with their lives?".
