Second in the series of 6 exclusive interviews with New Zealand's leadin sport psychology consultants who discuss the three attributes that they have seen in elite mentally tough athletes. Interview number 2 is with Alex McKenzie (PhD) who is currently leading the 'Coach Accelerate' program for the NZ Academy of Sport where a select number of already elite coaches are upskilled and mentored so that they can produce world champion athletes. One of the coach findings in the program was that at the elite level it was a lack of mental toughness that was the key to failure.

Alex McKenzie has been a sport psychology lecturer for 10 years and the professional development manager for 6 years with Rugby Super franchises. He continues to provide his insight to support sport at the elite level.
