David’s song, Psalm 23, has inspired innumerable Christian songs, sermons, and prayers for centuries. However, since David wrote this Psalm for his Jewish audience in a pre-Christian era, Christians can appreciate its full import when they first explore its socio-cultural context before connecting it to their faith practices. In this five-part series, Ebenezer examines this Psalm with the view of facilitating this interpretive task. In this fourth part, he uses thoughts Psalm 23 verse 4 to explain how the LORD Jesus, the Good Shepherd, comforts the Christian in the “valley of the shadow of death.” We hope that this message will encourage you to follow the Good Shepherd.
