In this morning's Lent devotion Robert Hicks helps us think about why Jesus had to die. He expands on 2 Corinthians 5:19 that Jesus death was the culmination of all the flow of history, reconciling man to himself as the acceptable sacrifice for our sin, removing any condemnation and destroying sin Satan and death. And the Holy Spirit applies what Jesus did at the cross to our heart working faith, hope and love within us.
