14:30: This was not random, it’s real! Alligators (and some turtles) exhibit temperature-dependent sex determination, which means that the temperature of the developing eggs determines the sex of the offspring. So in American alligators, for example, incubation at 33 degrees centigrade and above yields mostly males, while incubation at 30 degrees Celsius and below yields mostly females! Wow! This, however, is not true for people. Sorry, Galen.

22:00: Here is a really interesting piece from The Conversation that discusses how society’s (intentional) lack of knowledge about the clitoris is very dangerous. Authors Jane Chalmers and Cat Jones discuss how “women are at risk of sexual dysfunction (lack of desire or arousal etc.) from operations on their urinary and reproductive organs.”
