This event was a first for Medsoc, but due to its success will hopefully become a regular occurrence. We invited speakers organised by 5 different societies to share their experiences with healthcare, and also to speak about what they wish Doctors knew.

The speeches are powerful, there are pearls of wisdom throughout for consultations, and it's a thoroughly enjoyable listen. Perfect when you're stuck on your own somewhere for placement. Give it a listen!

The speakers are as follows

Cancer Soc - Claire Herlihy, former patient of Arc House

Failté Refugees-  Naomi Masheti -  UCC PhD graduate who has researched African migrant children in Ireland,  their psychosocial wellbeing, access to support services. Also a leading figure of the Cork Migrant Centre.

Disability Activism and Awareness - Siobhán Lee from their committee - living with Autism, ADHD and dyspraxia.

Students for Sensible Drug PolicyS - Róisín Hussey - from their committee. Recovering addict and experience with addiction services.

LGBT Soc - Will Kennedy living with HIV and working with the Cork support group.
