In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Brittany Baker from FOMO Baking Inc.  In this episode, she shares her entire purpose of why she stopped being a corporate lawyer and made the switch to open up her bakery which is focusing on an unique population of the public.

Who is Brittany Baker?

When Brittany was diagnosed with celiac disease in 2012, she found herself suddenly in the unfamiliar world of food allergies and dietary restrictions. As she began to learn about gluten-sensitivity she discovered how widespread and far-reaching food restrictions are in a world of over-processed foods – and not just gluten, but dairy, nuts, and egg products are all found where you’d least expect them. And that’s when she learned about the risks and frequency of cross-contamination and gave up law and turned to the kitchen a mission of radical change:

• She learned that the marketplace is filled products that address one food intolerance but there is very little to be found that doesn’t come with a risk of cross-contamination.


• She discovered that 40% of school children with allergies had been treated for anaphylaxis in an Emergency Room and that public schools, restaurants, and even grocery stores and delis are woefully unprepared for the rise in multiple food intolerances.


• She planned and built FOMO Baking Co, a brand new and state of the art allergen-free kitchen that is a safe space where people living with multiple food intolerances can order cake bites, cookie bites, and brownie bites without fear of ending up in the hospital all from the safety of their own homes.
