There were two kidnapping, and one was fatal. In October 1970 the Quebec FLQ terrorist group - the Front de Libération du Québec - first abducted British trade commissioner James Cross. They then went after Quebec Minister of Labour and Deputy Premiere, Pierre Laporte. Under captivity, Laporte was murdered and his body later found in the trunk of an abandoned car at the Saint Hubert airport.
