Recall that it was Hall’s phone number that was found in Grimard’s pocket at the dump site on Astbury Road. In testimony at Coroner Jean-Pierre Rivard’s inquiry from September 1978, Hall said he had known Raymond Grimard for five years and that during their frequent meetings, because of the numerous information the double murder victim had accumulated during his criminal career, he would occasionally give news of the goings-on in the underworld: “He said that he was doing well but that what he was doing was okay, that he had wanted to hang up the gloves.”"
