you love
when you're already six feet deep
into the icy waters?

I stare up at the ceiling
in the pitch black cold
as the red hair dye leaks out of my wrists
and stain the white bedsheets I bought
less than a year ago
I shiver
and roll onto my side
I wince
as tears fall onto the bedsheet
I close my eyes
his fists
his screams
the sirens
the courts
your hands running underneath my mini skirt
because I was apparently asking for it
I stare up at the white ceiling
with my back up against the cream coloured wall
with red hair dye covering my
dark, dark skin
