WOC Talk Biz, Episode #5 with your host, Monica Barriga-Weyers. This is a place Where women of color speak about work in the trenches from their mid-early years to working their way up as senior managers and entrepreneurs. How do they do it? What’s their mindset as they take on new challenges? These women are dedicated to you and value WOC (women of color) representation through their time with us in each and every episode.

We continue today with Part 2: the queen of tech in Q & A, Lisette Zounon, founder of Zsquare Solutions Inc. Lisette is an author, non-profit leader for breast cancer, speaker, podcaster, and social entrepreneur. She’s also one of the hardest working women I’ve ever seen. In many ways, she defines the multi-hyphenate woman today. Amazingly, she’s also a mother of two and a wife.

We’ll FINISH covering the story of how she pushed through her journey to stay in tech and how her mindset kept her going. She shares how she builds safe spaces for WOC on the job, and how she uses calendaring to network.  We have so much to learn from her.

In this episode, we learn about:

  • Where tech leaders source information for learning hard skills
  • Are tech bootcamps worth it
  • Positive and negative impacts of covid-19 in day-to-day work
  • Tactics for networking for new roles through calendaring
  • Fostering a safe workplace for diversity candidates
  • How to avoid picking up bad habits at your workplace
