480: Real Friends vs Deal Friends - a podcast by Rob Murgatroyd

As an entrepreneur, it can be easy to lose sight of the fact that business is only one aspect of life. Your career and friend group can transition into one, which is exceptionally different than if you were working in a standard nine-to-five job. 

 

Connecting with folks you want to be around - people that fill you with energy, provide lighthearted talk, and won’t judge you amid any downturns in your business - will give you the proper balance of enthusiasm in your life that no career can bring. 

 

Being around, or being, a “leg humper” can help you succeed in business, but this does not constitute a true friendship. This does not mean you shouldn’t have people to reach out to for business questions, but don’t let these connections overpower your circle of true friends.
