We live in a world that is obsessed with looks and outward appearance. There is also the misconception that if you have the right look, you will attract the right partner. Some even go to extreme measures to achieve the “perfect look” by going under the knife, taking dangerous substances or going on a bizarre diet.

For our Wednesday bible study, Pastor Tai explained the true meaning of attractiveness. Using King Solomon as an example (who had access to many women as he is recorded to have had 700 wives and 300 concubines!) in Proverbs 31:30 King Solomon concluded that “charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised”.

This shows that being attractive has little to do with looks and just focusing on your physical appearance isn’t enough to sustain a healthy relationship.
