This week’s theme highlights a number of female groups. Five of the songs are rare numbers by Aussie female groups, of which there were not many in a male dominated industry. Beginning with the delicious ‘Good Morning How Are You’ from Scottish Aussie sisters, the Moir Sisters, it includes another sister duo (Cheetah) and their big hit ‘Walking In The Rain’. Covers of well-known songs are presented by the hard rock group, The Runaways (Wild Thing) and two other Aussie groups, Marcie & The Cookies (Walking Along) and Jon & The Australian Vamps (It’s Too Late).  Popular female group of the 60s was The Shirelles (Baby It’s You) and the song which Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys considered ‘the best pop song ever written’ – ‘Be My Baby’ produced by the Phil Spector group, The Ronettes.
