There are many songs with seemingly meaningless titles. However, some do have meaning. For example Middle Of The Road‘s ‘Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep’ can be interpreted as a metaphor for childhood abandonment. And The Beatles ‘Ob-Li- Di- Ob- Li – Da’ is apparently a Nigerian phrase meaning ‘life goes on’. There is also Sherbet‘s cleverly named ‘Howzat’. Other songs have titles that are really ‘nonsense’ such as Manfred Mann‘s ‘Do Wah Diddy’ or even Normie Rowe‘s ‘Ooh La La’. Of some interest is the 1959 song by The Diamonds (She Say) which was critically acclaimed for its amazing bass section and an incredible falsetto voice.
