The communication between our organs and brain are via the Central Nervous System. Within this, we have our Autonomic Nervous System.

Our Autonomic Nervous system is part of the nervous system responsible for control of the bodily functions not consciously directed, such as breathing, the heartbeat, and digestive processes.

It supplies the internal organs, including the blood vessels, stomach, intestine, liver, kidneys, bladder, genitals, lungs, pupils, heart, and sweat, salivary, and digestive glands.

It has two main divisions. The Sympathetic Nervous System and the Parasympathetic Nervous System. The Vagus Nerve(s) are part of the Parasympathetic Nervous System (rest and digest).

In this episode of Yoga Punx Unite, I cover the role of the Vagus Nerve(s) and why and how we should keep it strong and functioning well to help with overall physical and mental health.
