Modern life pulls our energy in a million directions. Overwhelm, burn out, feeling distracted and scattered are normal side effects of living our modern fast paced, mostly online lives. I believe yoga and particularly asana practice has become so popular in recent years not because of the common perception that people are focused on their outward appearance, but because asana is an invitation away from the noise into the clear, calm center underneath all the noise.

In this episode I share a personal experience of realizing just how ungrounded I was and just how much asana could be the thing to help get me back 'down to earth' and grounded. I'll share three things that asana provides that is unlike nearly any other physical movement or practice and why it can be the perfect remedy to our modern lifestyles. I'll share about integrating the ancient source texts of yoga with modern neuroscience and understanding of trauma informed embodiment practices. This helps make asana far more than just a performance of flexibility, but an opportunity to be centered and embodied moment to moment.
