According to BBC News, Wright recently proved this claim by signing a message with one of history’s earliest Bitcoin addresses, which should belong to Satoshi.

Do we really believe him? Is BBC’s report enough proof for us? Not quite. Tim and Daniel recently set up a bet (http://ymb.tc/e120) regarding this proof, and they’ll significantly increase the stakes in this episode.

Then later in the show, for anyone new to cryptography, we’ll provide a brief overview of how it works and how someone can mathematically prove their identity with public and private keys.
