This is episode 89 of You, Me, and BTC – your liberty and Bitcoin podcast!

The bulk of today’s show is about censorship in the free market. Theymos, the owner of the Bitcoin subreddit, recently banned discussion about BitcoinXT and the blocksize debate, upsetting many users. We all agree that he has the right to censor his own subreddit, but we’ll have a heated debate about whether or not that right even needs to be mentioned. Is it worth discussing the validity of private censorship or should we jump straight to talking about the merits of this specific decision? We’ll also chat about a decentralized version of Reddit that currently under construction.

But before all that, we’ll briefly share some thoughts about offchain Bitcoins and bank-owned blockchains.

Your hosts today are Daniel Brown, Tim Baker, and John Stuart. Enjoy!

Leave a comment and tell us if you think most people understand the right of private censorship!!

We’d also like to thank this episode’s sponsors, LuckyBit and BitcoinTalk.club.
