During the interview we discuss Colin’s career path and how he came to be The Podcast Host.

Colin takes us on a journey from his early days in Dundee, Scotland to Edinburgh University where he studied Astrophysics as he had a keen interest in Space, before changing direction and moving into multi media and interactive systems. He trained as a web designer and web developer before designing and teaching web design courses at University and teaching lecturers how to create great online courses. As a self confessed ‘geek’ Colin loved coding and playing around with websites. He learned how to podcast and ended up teaching a podcasting course for several years at university.

This lead to creating The Podcast Host and starting his own podcast shows. Colin had a dream to not only teach at universities but also to help businesses through podcasting as well.

Colin’s background as a university lecturer makes him an excellent trainer with a systematic process to really help budding podcasters get started and grow their podcasts and their businesses.

Colin also has another podcast called Mountain Bikes Apart and he chats about mountain biking, equipment and holds interviews with top competitive mountain bikers. This fun podcast that has a really strong following too.

Find out the key elements for podcasting success, how to do it and why you must have the commitment to follow through to be a success. Most people find it hard to be committed to a regular podcast and Colin helps them to set up a strategy around their podcast so that they are clear as to what they want to achieve out their show.

Colin assists business owners with editing, music, publication, maintaining websites for their podcast, and provides advice on how to improve their shows.

Colin generously provides a lot of free information as well as commercial courses for everyone who wants to get into podcasting.
