inSonic 2018: Algorithmic Spaces | Symposium

Machine-learning algorithms in space- and time-based media, data sonification and visualization, algorithmic processes for spatial sound generation – in 2018, the topic of algorithms and big data will be negotiated within the framework of the festival, discussing to what extent algorithms have long since penetrated both above and below the public radar into socially relevant everyday processes as well as into the media arts.

2018 werden im Rahmen des Festivals »inSonic« die Themen Algorithmen und Big Data verhandelt und kritisch diskutiert, inwiefern Algorithmen längst oberhalb und unterhalb des Öffentlichkeitsradars sowohl in gesellschaftsrelevante Alltagsprozesse als auch in die medialen Künste eingedrungen sind. Das Festival wird von einem zweitägigen Symposium begleitet, in dessen Rahmen die Positionen der beteiligten KünstlerInnen sowie neue künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzungen mit dem Thema Algorithmen und Raumklang verhandelt werden.
