I Will Not Chew Gum In Class But I Will Change My Life - a podcast by David Wygant

Let's go down memory lane when back to when we misbehaved in class.

One of the lessons that we learned was that you can't chew gum in class.

If you did, you had to write down that you would not chew gum in class on the board in front of everyone.

Then you'd have to write it on a piece of paper over and over again.

We'd learn to not chew gum in class because we feared the punishment.

We don't do that as adults but I wonder if we did it, if we wrote down on the paper that we won't do something we've done, would we stop some of our impulses.

If we want to change an action, we should take a trip down memory lane and remember that punishment and try to reprogram our brains.

The only way to change an old belief system is to maybe write it down a hundred times and we'll remember to NOT do the thing.

And maybe we'll reach something better.

Just a thought.
