Can I mark episodes as unplayed even after I've played them?

Yes, when you're in the episodes section of the app, tap the three lines aka hamburger icon on the top left, then you go to Settings, scroll down to Mark Episodes, then you can choose a date range or individual episodes to mark as played or unplayed!  While you're there, we also recommend you set New Episode Auto Download to Keep All if you're going to be making your own playlists.
