In this episode, Colin and Elliot interview Kate Ouelette. Kate just finished the Trans American Bike Race (TABR) a few weeks ago. Not only did she want to complete it, but she had the goal of beating the current women’s fastest time – 18 days and 10 minutes. That’s over 4,200 miles and reaching 150,000 ft in total elevation gain.

Due to the current COVID conditions and with all the uncertainties from state to state, Kate did this challenge on a virtual platform called RGT. RGT allows cyclist’s to upload actual road files in GPX format so she could ride the actual roads across America. To meet her goal, she roughly road 15 hours a day on the bike and an average of 280 miles a day. Unbelievable!

Kate finished with a time of 17 days, 14 hours, and 23 minutes. She attributes a lot of her success to her amazing friends and endurance community to motivate her along the way. Way to go Kate and we can’t wait to hear about your next crazy challenge!

On a final note, Kate helped raise money for Myositis UK throughout her challenge. Her goal is to raise $1.00 for each mile. You can help her reach her goal here:
