On the last episode of Amazing FBA, my business coach Jason Miles and I sat down to talk about big-picture e-commerce and online marketing, and more specifically, how to sell digital goods. In what is now our fourth episode together, Jason and I will be digging deep into the nuts and bolts of creating, distributing and marketing digital products online.

The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More

How to pick a winnable market... (9:57).

...and find your niche (12:48)

Buyer & Seller Aggregation (20:57).

Pricing strategies for digital goods sellers (27:30).

"What's the competition for the information? If you've got a secret recipe that a million people want, and you're the only person with the secret recipe, you set the price. As soon as a second person has the recipe, you've got a price war."

Free: The Future of a Radical Price

Minimum brandable products on Amazon (33:24).

You've found your niche, what are the next steps in marketing your product (34:55)?

Final Thoughts:

Learning to market a product online can be a tedious process. Whether you're building a brand for a physical product or distributing an online course or other digital product, you need a strategy. Find your niche, identify the players in that niche, and employ a marketing strategy that makes sense for your specific market. Giveaways, affiliate deals, freemium pricing plans, influencer marketing, anything can give you a leg up on your competition. Amazon is a sales channel, but it's not the only sales channel. Don't limit yourself by entertaining false distinctions. Explore anything that can grow your sales in a meaningful way. Thanks to Jason Miles for coming on the show.
