I often find that irony in that a lot of time management systems and advice is that they take a lot of time. So I’m going to keep it brief. The tips in this episode are from Tim Ferris’ The Four Hour Work Week.

* Lack of time is lack of priorities. If you find that you don’t have enough time, that’s because you’re trying to do everything equally.

The starting point is to clarify your goals and priorities. In episodes 297 and 298 we covered goal setting, so if you haven’t listened to those, they are a good place to start.

* If you had a heart attack and had to work two hours per day, what would you do?

For me, I would do two things; I would hire virtual assistants to work on product research, sourcing, and launching, and I would give them access to my Private Label Process course because it is the consolidated version of the processes that I and my business partner use. If you want access to this course, it is currently shut. However, to be in the early-bird VIP launch when it re-launches in January, go to AmazingFBA.com/PLP

* What are the top 3 activities I use to feel as though I’ve been productive?

Two of the things for me would be answering emails and researching things without actionable outcome,

* “If I only accomplish this, will I be satisfied with my day?”

Find what that thing is, and if you haven’t done it yet, you shouldn’t be doing anything else with your day.

* Are you inventing things to avoid the important?

For example, you might be obsessively organizing information. While it is important to have some information very organized, you should question the amount of brain power, time, and energy you are applying to something. If it doesn’t make any sense, then you should stop.

* Don’t multitask.

It doesn’t work. You should focus on what you’re doing.

* Use Parkinson’s Law on a micro and macro level

* Attempt to leave/finish work an hour earlier than at now two days a week

Put a harsh deadline on things.

* Limit number of items on to do list

This is very important. This helps you focus on where you spend your time and provide value. You should have one thing that really matters.

* Use very short deadlines
