Allergies & Gut Health

with Dr. Amy Shah

Hello and Welcome. Here we are into May, the month of flowers and we really start to see mother nature come alive again, it’s beautiful.

In July I’m competing in my first ever triathlon. If you don’t know what a triathlon is it’s a endurance race where you swim, bike and then run. I started my training and last week I was able to get on my bike and go for a ride, it felt great to get outside but I tell my arse was sore for a couple of days after. Too much information?

Have you downloaded your free audio book yet? I have a fantastic opportunity for you to download a free audio book with audible. All you have to do to get your free book is to visit audibletrial.com/cutthecrap.  They’ve got hundreds of titles to choose from. And let me know what you download, I’d love to know what you’re listening to.

Thank you for all the reviews that are coming in. I’d love read one from Irina Baranov “There’s no one quite like Tanya Fraser…she blends the important topics of wellness – mind, body and soul – with humour, wisdom and love. I’ve loved all of the episodes so far, and can’t wait for more!”

Thank you so very much Irina for listening and taking the time to review the show.  I truly appreciate it. If you’d like me to read your review all you’ve got to do is subscribe, rate and review the show on iTunes. If you’re not sure how to do that visit tanyafraser.ca/rate and I give you step by step instructions.

Ok, let’s get to it. Spring is here and it’s beautiful and feels great to get outside. But for some of you, spring can be a miserable time because of allergies. Today I have Dr. Amy Shah as my guest and we are discussing both food allergies and environmental and how they are connected and why gut health is so important.

In this episode we talk about

* What are allergies

* What are some of the causes

* Why it’s important to stick your hands in the dirt

* Understanding leaky gut

* What are the big toxins

* How stress affects your allergies and immune system
